How we work

PRINT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please read through our terms and conditions carefully. These terms are put in place to ensure quality service and products, whilst avoiding any delays or additional costs. By accepting a quotation and/or proof sent, the Client accepts all our terms.

ORDER PROCEDURE

  1. Requesting a quote or consultation

Collective Culture will gladly assist with any questions and supply the Client with a free quotation.

If the Client requests a design and/or signage consultation at their premises, a call-out fee can be charged.

  1. Quotations and Payment

Quotations

Quotations are valid for 14 days, thereafter they will be subject to be revised. Only written quotations will be accepted. Verbal quotations given to the Client are an estimation and may not be accurate in any way.

New customers are required to complete our customer application form and send it to us via email before an order will be processed.

Collective Culture reserves the right to subcontract any services that we have agreed to perform for the Client.

Payment

Full payment is required for orders less than R1000-00.

60% non-refundable deposit is required for orders R1000-00 and over. Final payment will be requested on completion. On receipt of payment confirmation, delivery or collection will be confirmed.

Quote number or Company name must be used on the reference. To avoid delay in the design or production of an order, please send the proof of payment through via e-mail. Collective Culture will not start with a design or the printing of an order, prior to receiving proof of payment.

Our services and products are non-refundable, as every order is custom designed for the Client, and thus cannot be resold.

  1. Design

Collective Culture requires that a single individual will act as a primary contact to aid Collective Culture with design. The Client must ensure that this individual is properly briefed on design preferences and requirements to avoid any delays or additional costs.

The Client must obtain permission and rights to use any information or files that are copyrighted by a third party. Collective Culture is not liable for any claims or legal actions related to the content of your order.

Artwork Guidelines for print-ready files

Print-ready artwork can be saved in the following file formats:

  • EPS
  • Adobe Illustrator file
  • Vector layered PDF

Please make sure that all fonts are either provided or converted to objects and all images are high resolution and embedded into the document. Any RGB or Pantone colours must be converted to CMYK. Please include appropriate bleed on all artwork. You can contact our design department for available templates or guidance on required bleeds.

Photography and images for canvases and/or any other printed wall décor materials and items must be at least:

  • 2000 x 2000 pixels
  • Larger than 1MB

Collective Culture will check the files to make sure that it is indeed ready for print. If the file is print-ready, we will send a digital proof through to be checked and signed by the Client. Collective Culture does not take any responsibility for errors on proofs that were accepted. We will inform the Client if there are any issues with the file that needs to be addressed. The Client can also choose to let us assist in this matter, in which case an artwork fee will be charged.

Artwork Guidelines for In-House designs

Collective Culture does not offer sitting-in design services.

Start-Up - Corporate Identity Design

For our startup packages we provide the Client with a questionnaire about the company. This will allow us to deliver the Client with a design that suits their business. The Client will receive two logo design proposals based on the answers given.

If there are any changes, please send all the information in one email. All quotations include two changes per design, thereafter we will contact you to quote on further changes.

Clients of our start-up packages will receive ready-to-use JPEG’s and PNG’s of the corporate identity materials.

In-House designs

We require from the Client to supply all copy and information that needs to be incorporated in a design. Copy should be delivered as a Microsoft Word document or be communicated in an email. Logos must be supplied in the following file formats:

  • Adobe Illustrator file
  • Vector layered PDF
  • High-resolution Jpeg

Photography and other images must be at least:

  • 2000 x 2000 pixels
  • Larger than 1MB

Please brief us on any brand guidelines or design preferences, such as colour, look & feel and image use. Clients need to either inform or supply us with any specific fonts that we need to use in the design. Collective Culture is not responsible for a delay in design if the above is not provided for by the Client.

If it is needed to buy stock images, templates, third party software, fonts and/or any other additional expenses not covered by the original quotation, Collective Culture will discuss this with the Client beforehand. The Client will be quoted for the additional expenses.

All designs created by Collective Culture will remain the property of Collective Culture. A once-off fee will be charged to release any designs and vector files to the Client. Any designs and printed work may be presented in Collective Culture’s portfolio.

  1. Digital Proofs

Collective Culture sends digital proofs to all Clients prior to printing any order. We ask Clients to kindly check the contact information and spelling, as Collective Culture does not take any responsibility for errors on proofs that were accepted. Once an order has gone through for print, orders cannot be amended or cancelled, whether there is a mistake on the design or not.

If there are any changes on the proof please send all the information in one email, and we will send you a new proof to sign off. All quotations include two artwork changes per design, thereafter we will contact you to quote on further changes. Repeat orders and print-ready files will also require a proof that has to be signed off to assure that the order is free of any faults.

Collective Culture does not take any responsibility for errors in colour printing. Please keep in mind that not all printers print the same colours and screens vary in colour when viewing a digital proof. Although we take great care in assuring colour quality, we cannot guarantee colours on prints.

  1. Production

Standard production time is 5 -14 working days from the approval of artwork, depending on the product ordered. If the Client requests a shorter lead time for orders, a Rush Fee will be charged. Collective Culture will have to assess if we can assist the Client in case of a rush deadline before-hand. Collective Culture must be informed on any deadline at the quoting stage.

Collective Culture will not be held responsible for any delays, nor any loss or damage which you may suffer resulting from a delay whatsoever, on orders including but not limited to late artwork sign off from Clients, proof of payment not being sent, couriers being delayed, power outages, floods and/or any natural or manmade disasters that is beyond Collective Culture’s control.

  1. Delivery & Installation

Delivery is free for clients in the following areas:

Rooihuiskraal, The Reeds, Noordwyk and Carlswald.

 Delivery is free in Johannesburg & Pretoria for orders above R3000-00. Orders below R3000-00 and/or outside of the here named areas will be charged a delivery fee. Clients can also choose to collect their orders at our premises in Midrand.

All installations will be quoted for. It is the Client’s responsibility to give an accurate description of the area in which the installation will take place. This will assure that we can do a high quality and safe job. If needed and/or possible Collective Culture will assess the premises of the Client for installation.

Under no circumstances will Collective Culture nor anyone else who has been involved in the creation, production, delivery or installation of the Products be liable for any direct, indirect, special, consequential or incidental damages whatsoever. Including damages for loss of business profit, business interruption or expenses resulting/arising the above, or the inability to use the Products. Maximum liability to Collective Culture under this guarantee will, in no event, exceed the value of the Product supplied.

It is the Client’s responsibility to assure that permission is granted to install any form of signage or advertising. Collective Culture does not accept any liability for wrongly or illegally erected signs and signage whatsoever.
